Jeff has more than 25 years’ civil engineering consulting experience and specialises in pavement management, routine road maintenance, construction project management, site supervision and civil infrastructure. He co-founded Daveng Consulting Engineers in 2004 and became the sole owner in 2017.
Since the establishment of Daveng Consulting Engineers, Jeff has acted as contract engineer on contracts of more than R2 billion. He has completed numerous labour intensive and Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) projects in South Africa. Jeff is enthusiastic about making a difference in the industry and has been instrumental in creating over 980 000 construction person days over the last 18 years of his career.
Jeff holds a national diploma (1995), a national higher diploma (1996) and a BTech degree (2002) in civil engineering from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) as well as a B. Eng degree (1999) in civil engineering from Hanzehogeschool Groningen in the Netherlands. Forever a learner, he completed a B. Com degree in law at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in 2013.
Jeff is the foundation’s CEO.


Clive Hendricks
Clive has more than 18 years of litigation experience in the High Court, the Labour Court, the Labour Appeal Court, the Supreme Court of Appeal and the Constitutional Court. He has also served as an acting judge of the Western Cape High Court.
Clive is commissioner of the South African Small Claims Court and serves on the national panel of liquidators of the Master of the High Court. He is also a member of the disciplinary committee for Western Province Cricket and a panel attorney for the Western Cape Provincial Sports Confederation.
He holds a national diploma in Penology from Unisa (1998), a bachelor’s degree in law from UWC (2002) and a master’s degree in law from the UCT (2004).
Clive ensures that JDF and its operations are legally compliant.


Brend van der Merwe
Brend has more than 17 years of experience in the field of electrical engineering. He is a registered professional engineering technologist and specialises in leadership, strategy, investment, asset management, renewable energy, hydro power generation and electrical engineering.
Brend has a B. Tech degree in electrical engineering from CPUT (2017), as well as two MBA degrees, one from Lucas College and Graduate School of Business in San José (USA) in 2017 and another from Stellenbosch University in 2018.
Brend keeps our corporate strategies in check.


Bradley Plaatjies
Bradley has more than 24 years’ structural and civil engineering consulting experience. He co-founded BSP in 2005 and specialises in the structural analysis and design of complex structures. Since 1998, Bradley has acted as contract engineer on several structural and civil engineering contracts. He oversees project design teams, senior engineers, engineers and graduates.
Bradley holds a B. Sc (1997) and a master’s degree (2005) in civil engineering, both from the University of Cape Town (UCT).
Bradley makes sure that at JDF we use the most efficient strategies, procedures and practices for our mentoring programme to reach our goal of successfully registering candidates.


Bradley du Toit
Bradley has eight years’ experience in the field of civil engineering. He started his career as a candidate technician for the Western Cape government in their graduate development programme and gradually advanced to the position of contract coordinator. He became a registered professional engineering technologist with ECSA during this time.
Bradley has experience in geometric design, contract coordination, tender documentation and administering contracts, pavement rehabilitation and construction relating to roadworks and ancillary works. He has a national diploma in civil engineering from CPUT (2014) and a B. Tech degree in urban engineering from Unisa (2018).
At JDF, Bradley is in charge of strategic systems and processes to get engineering youth involved, allocate suitable mentors and reach our goal of approved applications.
